My engine is smoking after cleaning it?

I just used GUNK and simple green to clean my engine now. I used a leafblower to dry it and now i'm letting it run to make sure that everything is dry. But there is smoke coming out from the engine and the SES light just turned on Any idea of what this could be.....is it normal for the engine to smoke?

nope, its not normal the engine smokes. ever went to a car dealership and bought a new car that smoked?

I'd say let the car run for about 20 minutes then drive it for a few. sounds like some of that gunk you used got into some wiring but after you get the engine hot/warm it should burn most of it off.

Dont worry about it man, i would be freakin out if i were you too---but i would take White's advice and see if you can burn the gunk off of it, and then if that doesnt work hmmm..I guess make a nother post about it! lol

thanks everyone, yea I just let it run then drove it around and the smoke went away. I was freaked out b/c i've never cleaned my engine before so I was nervous in the first place. The smoke definately didn't help that...lol Its fine now, all nice and clean
