Microfiber vs Cotten

Have read here where microfiber towels may be better for polishing than cotton, is that true? Also looked up MicroFiber Tech on the internet and they only have blue and green (microfiber) towels, is that an issue vs white?

Thumbs up

I prefer MF towels a thousand times over cotton for waxing and polishing. The MFTech.com towels are only blue and green, like most of the good quality MF sold currently. I am using the blue Elite MF from them and they are without a doubt the best towels I've used to date!

If you've lived with cotton towels for many years, you'll wonder how you ever lived without MF after using them! I honestly don't think the color makes any difference on a MF towel. But, if you do prefer a white MF towel, www.dftowel.com is the place to shop!

I'll probably never have a need for cotton towels again for waxing and polishing.....

I just ordered the same towels that Mike was talking about-the blue elite microfiber. I'll let you know how they work when I get them-I can't wait

Sweet! If you've used cotton for a while, you'll really appreciate the benefits of MF for waxing/polishing. No lint, no scratches/swirls/marrs, effortless wax removal, and perfect size for wax removal IMO, no cutting edges, etc.... Overall, just a darn near perfect product for detailing IMO..... You won't believe how easy wax or polish residue comes off the car.

Good or bad, please update us on what you think of them! I personally think you'll love 'em though. I'm probably gonna order another 20 or so in the future.....great product!

Just be sure to follow the care instructions included with the towels! No softeners or other chemicals are needed, maybe just a little soap. And, do not dry on high heat! You can use low if you like.....

I have tried MF and cotton and I prefer cotton myself. I can not stand how the MF feels in my hand for one thing and it just does not glide over the paint like I like to see, like cotton does. But I am not using any ordianary cotton towel either, I use just about the most expensive cotton towel you can buy and that is Fieldcrest Charismas. Charismas put 99.9% of towel to shame, you just have to feel a Charisma towel to understand.

I, or I should say we have been testing MF towels from 7 different manufacturers for about 3 years, while the quality is getting better every year, we still see MF causing scratches in different batches, so I am still using cotton on my cars, although I test the MF on friends cars. W hat are friends for.

I was wondering where I can buy Fieldcrest or Cannon towels to use when polishing my car. I'm hoping for a local store (sears, jcpenny, bad bath and beyond, etc) so I can get them in the next couple days. If there aren't any, a substitute brand suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks

Any of those stores you listed might have them, more likely Bed Bath and Beyond will have the better ones, look for Fieldcrest Charismas for the best I have used.

I've been buying my towels from KevinSS, I've bought a bunch from him (I hate doing laundry).
