Meguires Scratch X? This the right stuff?

Well im gonna try and get all the scratches and swirlies off...is the Meguires Scratch X what I shoudl be using? I got some for xmas.

Any tips on how to apply it? Do I have to use dawn before it, or just dawn before the Zaino(which I dont have yet).

I do have a buffer...but it doesnt havfe the applicator pad, just the remover.

Thanks for any tips.

The Scratch X is mainly used for those nasty single scratches that occur from time to time to make them less noticeable. As a general swirl remover, I don't think it's the best in class. For good swirl removing, you need some 3M Swirl Remover #39009, Meguiar's #9 SMR, Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner Polish, or 3M Finesse It II Finishing Material. The latter two work well with buffers, the former can be used by hand or buffer. Personally, I'd save the ScratchX for future problems, and invest in a true swirl remover for the big jobs.

Whichever swirl remover you choose, DAWN before you apply the Zaino. It's a good idea to clay, if needed, before the swirl removing as well.

You definitely need an app pad for the buffer, preferably a polishing pad for use with abrasives. Otherwise, I'd do the job by hand.
