Meguiars Scratch-X

This stuff is great! I went to Advance to try and get some 3M stuff but they didnt carry it, and I didnt feel like going to Pep Boys either, so I thought I'd try it. It works nice! It took out 2 of my scratches by hand and a little bit tougher one using the buffer. Now my new car is ready for another coat of Z2. I should have Post-Zaino pics of my new Fusion Orange Grand Am GT up in a few days! I cant wait to see this thing shine more than it already does!

How did you use the Scratch-X? Did you use dishsoap to get off all the polish before hand? What did you finish it up w/? I just purchased some Scratch-X a few days ago and am wondering how I should go about using it w/ the Zaino...Also did you use alcohol for the scratches at all?

My car was already clean, so I just took a little bit of rubbing alcohol to the scratches to make sure the Zaino was gone ( only had 1 coat on it). Then I rubbed some of the scratch-X over the area with an applicator pad for about 15-20 seconds, let it sit for a few seconds and then wiped the area down with a white bath towel. For the bigger scratch I followed the same procedure, except I used my buffer for about 30-40 seconds to make sure I got it. Followed everything up with some Z6 until I have a chance to put some Z2 on there later this week.

THe one thing I like about Scratch-X is, that you don't have to go back over the affected area with another finer polish as you do with some more abrasive products.

I dont have any pics, sorry. The big scratches I took out were probably 3-4 inches in length. It looks like someone with a purse or backpack or something brushed up against the side of my rear quarter panel. A quarter sized glob of Scratch-X on a lambs wool bonnet and about 30 seconds of buffing took them all out.
