Couple new product tests/evaluations....for tires!
Just for kicks, I picked up the Meguiar's Hot Shine tire spray and Stoner's "More Shine Less Time" for tires as well and thought I'd do a little testing versus Z16. My criteria here are: looking for a very easy, quick tire product that will not sling, and has good durability. I've used nearly all the store bought tire dressings in the past years and have been mostly unsatisfied, so I thought I'd try a couple more for giggles. Neither of these sprays are foaming....as I'm not fond of the tire foams. To prep the tires, I cleaned the tire and wheel with Eagle One A2Z cleaner so that all bonded dirt or other dressings were completely removed in preparation for the new dressings.
So, I applied the Meguiar's HS to both passenger side tires and the Stoner's to both driver's side tires for a head to head test. Since I've used Z16 exclusively for a couple years now, I already know how it performs in terms of shine, durability, ease of use, and most importantly slinging.
My thoughts so far is that the Meguiar's is definitely a "high gloss" and very wet looking shine, and IMO much glossier/wetter than their High Gloss Endurance gel, and of course way shinier than Z16. The Meguiar's has the adjustable nozzel for different sidewall heights, and I had it set to "medium" for my 55 series sidewall. The spray pattern was pretty good, just a little oversprayed onto the outer edge of the wheel which required a little wiping up. Even so, I was able to apply the HS to the entie tire in about 30 seconds for a perfect uniform gloss. By comparison, the Z16 usually takes me about 2-5 minutes per tire to get it looking perfect the way I like it. And even when using Z16 I usually get a little onto the edge of the wheel that requires wiping up, so the light overspray may be a moot point for me. I certainly know quicker isn't always better, but we shall see.... I'm curious to see how the HS will hold up and if it will sling in the coming week. Like I said, the HS is very glossy, so those that prefer a matte/satin looking tire need not apply. If you truly want a "Hot Shine' (pun intended)
the Meguiar's is one of the best I've seen in high/wet gloss. And this even surprises me as I've been VERY disappointed with nearly all of Meguiar's gel dressings, i.e. both Endurance and High Gloss Endurance. For a quick high shine, I give a thumbs up to Meguiar's HS! Of course, if it slings, the rest will probably be used on relatives cars!
I will watch the durability in the coming week(s).....
Now, the Stoner's More Shine Less Time (MSLT) is a bit different in terms of spray pattern and shine. IMO the Stoners spray pattern is perfect as not a drop caught any portion of the rim at all. The spay pattern made it VERY easy to quickly coat the tire without it making any mess either on my hands or on the wheel. I applied it to the tire in about 15-30 seconds. The shine is slightly glossier than Z16, but IMO, looks like a brand new tire. The shine is glossy, not near as much as the Meguiar's though. It really looks good, not too dull, not too glossy....just looks like a professionally dressed tire, all in about 15 seconds with no mess! Two thumbs up for Stoner's so far!! Again, I will certainly watch for slinging and the durability over the next week(s) and update my review.
As quick and easy as these products are, if they turn out to be AS durable as Z16 and don't sling, they may be my new favorites. As I've said many times here, I like the Z16 shine, but I can't get the shine/gloss to last but about 1 week under good conditions.
I already know the Z16 never slings which is a huge plus in my book, I just hope these 2 sprays will not sling either. The only other thing is that using the EagleOne tire swipes with Z16, it takes me a little bit of time to get each tire looking the way I like it....perfect. And, it's actually messier on my hands as well than either of these sprays.....
I've never been a big fan of tire sprays, but both of these products seem to work very well for the price. The Meguiar's HS was $5 a can and Stoner's was $4 a can. Meguiar's claims the HS will treat up to 50 tires from one can....we'll see about that! Overall, I'm pleased with the initial results, it's hard to decide which of the products I like best at this point. The Stoner's looks the most "professional" I suppose, Meguiar's looks overly glossy and the Z16 looks matte/satin/low gloss, just like a new tire. I'll report back on durability and slinging later in the week.....

I use the Zaino plastic shine stuff on my tires, and put it on an Eagle One tire sponge. Perfect every time. Not super shiny, but a deep black that lasts a few weeks.
Thanks for the detailed review.

After a couple of days now, the shine is still going strong on both the Meguiar's HS and the Stoner's MSLT. At this point the Meguiar's has settled down and looks almost the same in glossiness as the MSLT. Only one downside to report so far.....the Meguiar's did sling a little onto the lower panels of the car. Maybe I sprayed too much for my first time using it....
I'll probably try again using less spray before I give up on it completely. The Stoner's however didn't sling a drop and still looks nice! So, Stoner's has the edge now. So far I'm going to have to give the Stoner's MSLT an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up......extremely easy to use, no mess on the wheel or my hands, and seems to so far last as long as any tire gel I've used. For $3-$4 a can.....Stoner's is a winner so far.
Now that I've seen which slings and which doesn't, I'll see just how durable these products are.
to Stoner's

I have been using the Stoner's for 2 years now. I believe it is the BEST product for tires. I have tried many others and I get compliments from lots of people on the appearance of my tires.
Two thumbs up here for the Stoner's!!!!

I have used Stoner MSLT for many years on my SUV's, it will sling down the side of the car if applied too thick, but not too bad compared to most. I switched to Z-16 (I use it on my cars) because the Stoner's would get on my chrome wheels with any wind. The Stoner's has more gloss, both last through one washing or rain, Stoner is easier to use but costs more on large tires.
I am not a fan of any tire dressing sprays myself, but i like MikeLS picked it up to see if meguiars finally had something worth while to dress tires with. Now i use it to shine the inner fenders and thats it. I file it right with black magic, nothing but a sloppy mess that gets on the rim. Just my opinion
I use the Turtle Wax Tire gel or whatever its called that you don't spray at all, it goes on with a sponge like applying wax.
I *hate* tire products that are spray on, I always manage to get a spec or 2 on the car or fender....could be that I just used poor products before
