Love Bugs
I'm spending a bit of time this summer in Georgia and Florida. The love bugs are horrible this year and are making a mess of the front of my car. Wax doesn't seem to help much. Some local guy told me to take some WD-40 and spray it on a cloth and wipe the front of the car and it would keep them from sticking..... Is that stuff safe on paint????
My solution:
I visit my brother in Florida, and the best thing I ever used was lemon Pledge. Yes, the furniture wax! Spray and buff a few coats before your trip, then the bugs will wash off easily. I usually hit the nose of the car every few hundred miles at a rest stop.
Pledge will not harm the paint - actually, a lot of detailers use it for car shows! It washes right off with water too.
