Im not arguing with the surface contaminants, i can feel them when it is cleaned...before wax. i dont have 'swirls' i have a few very light scratcs from where i brushed up against the car, and when it was cleaned from the previous owner.

Just for clarity, there's no real difference between swirls and light surface scratches other than their direction.

Ok. I always thought swirls were circular and all over the car. These are few, and far apart.

That's what I said, the difference is their direction (ie. circular vs. straight). Swirls don't have to be all over but usually are.

You treat both the same way...a light paint polish.
