NXT is a cleaner wax that according to Mike Phillips who works for Meguiars it also contains what they call specialized abrasives, neither abrasives or cleaner waxes will layer, it will simply remove the previous coat. It would be a waste of time and money to put coat after coat on the car. Personally, I never use abrasives or cleaner waxes on my cars.

well then that answers it...I'll just wax it once a month then, if it removes the previous layer when I apply the new one, then doing it once a month I should be good odnt you think?

It all depends on the circumstances. Like is it garage kept? Do you drive in rain? dust? all those kinds of things. I like to wax mine with nxt about once every month and a half or 2 months, then again mine is garage kept.

You're right and wrong.

NXT does have light cleaners in it, but they're VERY, VERY mild, and will barely affect layering. 2 Layers is about as far as you want to go.....there was a whole thread on this on www.autopia.org and Mike Phillips apologized for the confusion.

I would think that if NXT did layer, they would advertise it that way in a heartbeat. From what I've heard very little of the previous NXT layer remains from applying the next coat.

The abrasives are super mild. It layers. More than 2 thin coats is a waste though.

NXT can not be layered, it contains 15% abrasives (that is a lot) , multi coats will make your car look better though due to the amount of oils in the product.
