I'M HIT!!!
Well, I've had the Camaro for three weeks, and someone touched my back bumper already! It's only paint damage, but I'm not sure what I can do about it. It's about a 6 inch x 3 inch area with a lot of scratches and one chip. Is there anything I can do about this or do I need to take it somewhere? Where do I take it if it comes to that?
Thanks!!

First place to go is to your insurance company and report the damage and see what they say.

I didn't talk to my insurance company because I didn't want my rates to go up over this. A guy that I work with came outside with me yesterday, and laughed at the 'damage' I claimed to have. So, I called Chevy, and they recommended a body shop in the area, and I went yesterday to get an estimate. They said that they could compound the area and touch up the paint for 10 bucks. They also said that you would be able to tell that it was touched up. Another option is to remove the entire bumper and repaint it for 240 bucks. I figured that I would do the quick fix for now, and if I see that this happening often, I'll just have the whole bumper painted after a year or so. What do you think?

Insurance companies should not raise your rates for damage you did not cause, if you are that scared of your insurance company get a new policy.
No way in hell I am going to "touch up" a 2002 model car, 240 dollars or not, I would have it fixed.

Also, depending on how your policy is written and what options you asked for when you took the policy out, this kind of damgae sometimes does not have a deductable.
I had someone back into a car of mine in a parking lot and then he sped off in front of several people (not me but other witnesses), I did not have to pay one cent, no deductable on my policy for that kind of damage.

Well, the thing is I'm not sure how it happened. I was driving all over the place on Saturday. I know I didn't back into anything. It could have happened when I was parked. Also, there was a car behind me at a traffic light that seemed dangerously close, and kept inching further up, but I would have thought that I would feel it if there was contact. What am I supposed to tell the insurance company?
