I finally applied rain-x without streaking/smearing
I've always liked rain-x but hated the way it's almost impossible to get all the residue off, and you end up with streaks all over, and glare from the sun, and all that fun stuff...
Well yesterday when I was washing my car, the first thing I did was wash all my glass. Then I dried all the glass, put on the rain-x, and let it dry for a few minutes. While it was drying I cleaned and conditioned my leather, and hit on some high school girls who said "nice car" . After it was dry, I wiped it off like normal, and of course had the normal streaky finish. Then all I did was hose it down and hit it again with the wash mitt and soap, then did the rest of the car, and now I have a perfect coat of rain-x with no streaks

I've done basically the same thing for the past few years. Except I wash the windows and apply the Rain-X like normal then just go about washing the car without trying to buff it off. Not sure if it effects the length that the Rain-X stays on or not but I'm more then willing to apply it twice as often as apposed to fighting the battle of the streaks.
