Post huge cradboard box scraped my car

i was sitting at a red light minding my business (it was very very windy)......well i see this huge cardboard box floating across this field then it comes to the street and strait for my car, theres a car in front of me and a car behind me, so what could i do, well it brushed against my car, when i got back to work i looked at it, there are very long light scrathes on the quarter panel, i waxed it with macguires, didnt help, rubbing compound??? or what??? any ideas, and particular brands to use and a method to apply....pleae help....i have a brand new buffing wheel i never used, im too worried ill mess up the paint......what do u guys think?

Heh, that sucks, but sounds like something that would happen to me, it's usually my luck. Anyway, try the Meguiar's Scratch X or 3M Swirl Remover #39009. The Scratch X will probably do the trick, unless the scrapes are pretty severe. Apply against the direction of the scratch in back and forth motions, followed by up/down motions (along the scratch). Rub the product in with a cotton applicator with medium to slightly heavy pressure until you notice it's going away, then lighten up a bit to finish the polishing action and bring up gloss. Finish with your favorite wax or sealant.
