How many coats of Zaino

Im about to use Zaino for the first time but I got a question.

After I wash, clay, rinse, Z-1....how many coats of Z-2 and Z-5 can I put on the car?

The instructions are kind of unclear on this.

Should I only apply one coat and wait 24 hours (like the instructions say), or does multiple coats mean higher gloss and shine?

Thanks in advance

With Z-1 you can apply one coat per 12 hours, if it's real humid you should wait 24 hours between coats, but this time of year 12 hours will work, if you use ZFX you can apply 3 coats per day.

Thanks, but Im wondering more about the Z-2 and Z-5.

After my Z-1 is down should I only use one coat of Z-2 and Z-5? Or can I use mulitple coats?

For instance....

Z-1, Z-5, Z-2.....buff out and more Z-5, Z-2

or

Z-1, Z-5, Z-2, Z-5, Z-2, Z,-2.......then buff out.

or just

Z-1, Z-5, Z-2 wait the 24 hours and start again.

You have to buff off each successive coat of Z2 or Z5 and wait the proper curing time before applying the following with the following coat...

FWIW, when using Z1, I have been told that it is acceptible to apply the next coat of Z2/Z5 after SIX hours, rather than 12 or 24 if the temp/humidity is acceptible. If you are applying in a heated garage, you would be able to do it in SIX, I'd think...

Using Z1, you don't get the benefit of multiple coats or fast drying, like with ZFX. So, if the temp is above 70, you can wait 6 hours to apply the next coat of Z2 or Z5. If the temp is below 70, wait at least 24 hours before adding more Z2 or Z5.

So, apply 1 coat of Z2 or Z5 over the Z1, wait for it to fully dry, then buff. Wait the minimum time until you can do the next coat accoding to the temp in your area, then apply more if you like.

Before the ZFX came out, this was the method we all generally followed. The way most polymers work is that they need to cure and bond on the surface, some as long as 2 or more days, before you add more coats. I still use Z1 too every now and then, but the ZFX is what makes the multiple coats back to back possible, with instant curing.

Hope that helps!

Mike

I know what youre looking for.
Z1, Z5....buff......24 hours..... Z1, Z2.....buff......24 hours.....Z1, Z2.....buff..... keep going with as much Z2 of Z5 after each time you take it off and wait 24 hours.
You are implying that you are putting a coat of Z2 over Z5 before you take off your Z2. That cant be done. I know that much for sure.
What I dont know is if you have to keep applying Z1 before every coat. Mike?
So if you dont have to keep using Z1 that would make it....
Z1, Z5....buff......24 hours..... Z2.....buff......24 hours..... Z2.....buff.....

Maybe mike or carl can help you with that.

12 hours between coats of Zaino polish, this can be cut in half if the humidity is very low
