how to get tar off rims....

I just bought some 17" konig appeal w/ opal finish. I got them from my friend because he is selling his car. Anyhow, one of the rims has some tar on it and I was wondering what the best way to get it off is. He told me to use wd40. What do you guys suggest. Thanks. Hopefully soon I will get a few more coat of zaino on and take some pics. It looks sweet with the rims!!! Later.

Amonia will work as well. What must be considered here is that anything capable of stripping tar off will also strip the clear coat off the wheel. To compensate for that you will need to either re-seal the wheel or wax it to protect the now unprotected finish. OR if you like me and you polish the wheels anyway your aready waxing them after the polish.

Try Stoner's Tarminator. Won't hurt the clear at all, just the tar. It works wonders.
