Post How do I get water spots to go away?

They are all over my windows and I cant make em go away for the life of me. It looks awful and it annoys the crap out of me when i'm driving. Will a clay bar work?

Water spots can be a tough cookie to tackle depending on how bad they are. Here are a few things you can try, in order of easiness, less cost, and abrasiveness: (if one doesn't work, move to the next method until the spots are gone)

White Distilled Vinegar-let it soak in then wipe out, finish with a glass cleaner

Claybar-rub the bar over the spots a few times, using a good lube

Glass polish- I really like Zaino Z12 polish. It is abrasive and will remove most any spots on any glass surface. My glass surfaces are completely crystal clear and spot free from using Z12 and frequent Z7 washes... Meguiar's and 3M also make glass polishes...

Abrasive car polish- like 3M #39009 or Meguiar's Fine Cut/Medium Cleaner

It may sound stupid, but when this happened to me, I put down the paper towels and used old news papers. They did the trick.

Not stupid at all. The ink in newsprint makes an excellent glass polish.

Whenever I clean my windows, I make sure to wipe and dry with newspaper.
Not a single smear or mark if you dry it COMPLETELY the first time!

I just posted a remedy for removing water spots on virtually every other material on the car: "Turtlewax Bug and Tar and Tree Sap." Got it at Pep Boys.

Not sure how it would work on glass but I don't see what harm it would do. If you have no luck with the other suggestions above I would try it. Perhaps I will try it and let you know.
