How can i remove these spots??
The other day, I was painting something not to far from my car and I got some over spray on it. I then had to get some rubbing compound from Autozone just to remove the paint. By doing that i guess i took off the clear coat or something. I now have smudges that look like fingerprints where i used the rubbing compound. Is there anyway I can buff these out or what should I do?
I agree that clay should have been your first preference for overspray. Most clays will even indicate that it removes overspray as well as paint contaminants. I'd avoid the Meguiar's clay at all costs, as it's way more hassle than its worth and leaves a mess on the surface, which is NOT supposed to happen with a good clay. Try some Mother's or Clay Magic instead.
But, since you already used the compound now you have another problem to solve. Any time you use a compound it will need to be followed up with a swirl remover or polish to bring back the gloss. The abrasives in a compound will marr and slightly dull the surface. To remove this, you will need some 3M SMR #39009 or Meguiar's #9. Polish it up and it should bring back the gloss and remove the dull compounding spots.
As always use a wax or sealant to protect the area after finishing.

I don't know why people mess with Mother's and Meguiar's when Clay Magic ownz them all. Clay Magic is a little tackier and will stick to your hand better. If you drop your clay then its all over for that bar. Time to get a new one. Meguiar's crumbles to quick and Mother's is still a step below Clay Magic in my opinion.
Thanks alot. I still havent gotten around to trying to fix these bad spots yet. Although I was at a friends house and he had some Meguirars #7 that made a little spot look better.
