Help from real painters.

I know I’m going to get a lot of crap for even thinking of doing this, but my car was repainted in several areas and was done very poorly. It has faded or dull spots all over it. So what I'm going to do is paint it with spray paint in my backyard. I worked on helicopter body panels and we painted most things with aerosol spray cans, so I think I can make it look better than it does now. Here's my idea of what im going to do:

I think I will sand it all down, wash it really good, wipe it with acetone, and then spray it with a lot of primer. Then wet sand it and spray it with some gloss black, wet sand and spray it again with a clear.

Feel free to give suggestions or drop pointers on types of paint to use or anything else.

Im also going to be filling a few areas where they left waves and dings when they painted the rear fenders.

Do you remember what type of paint you used? Did it hold up well?
