Question Help getting gunk, dirt bild up off my car

I had a bra on my 97 camaro for about 7mo. and when I took it off a couple of days ago, I noticed a lot of crud build up and tar and dirt etc. I washed the car and it didnt come off.

I baught the California Gold Clay Bar because its supposed to take stuff like this off. That clay bar is a joke, it didnt take **** off.

Do any of you have any suggestions to get this crud off my car. If not, I guess I will just have to get it re-painted.

Thanks,
Scott

my buddy got some tree sap on his car. he used the clay bar and it came out. It took him a hell of a long time, but it eventually came out. If you just keep the bar over the spot OVER and OVER, it should come out sooner or later.
It didn't help at ALL?

Cool

For stuff you can purchase at the auto parts store, try Meguire's step #1 cleaner then step #2 polish then follow that up with your favorite wax/Zaino, whatever. If that doesn't work I'd highly recommend having the car professionaly buffed before shelling out the $$$ for a paint job. A complete detail job inside and out runs about $100 or less in most cases.

Also,

We're getting a little too many topics here on detailing type questions. Although that does have to do with the car's appearance this forum is for appearance modifications like hoods, wheels, ground effects, custom paint, etc.

Just a friendly reminder there is also a Show and Shine section here where detailing/cleaning/waxing type questions should be asked. Thanks!!!

I'll move this to the Show and Shine forum...
