Question Good one-step wax/polish product?

Hey guys,
I'm hunting for the best one-step polish/protectant to use on my granddad's black Silverado, preferably a polymer or acrylic since he rarely ever waxes. So far, I've heard some good things about Liquid Glass or Klasse All-In-One. Does anyone have any experience with these products or suggestions for others I could consider? I would Zaino it, but he wouldn't appreciate the results as being any better than Meguiar's or anything else. So, I'm just looking for something else that is easy, durable, and with a good shine.

Thanks!

Mike, I too have a Grandfather that simply wouldn't appreciate a clean, shiny vehicle. He has this Chev. full size sport van and it's two-tone maroon and white, and the white looks okay but the maroon in just horrible. I would love to spend a few hours on it but like you say, he simply wouldn't appreciate it. Plus he's a bit of a jerk to me so that's strike two.

Anyways, I have heard that Liquid Glass is pretty goos, but I've never seen it anywhere? So if anyone knows anything about it, I'd like to know to.

Jeff

If durability is what you are looking for, you ARE looking for Zaino, even if you don't realize it. Anything carnuba based isn't going to last.

Well, I'll let ya know! After doing intense research on some other good polymer systems, I think I'm just gonna give LG a try. From what I found out, LG has been around since the 70's or 80's, so it's formulation is a little older than the hi-tech stuff like Zaino or Blackfire. But, I've heard and seen some great results with it so I'll just give it a shot on his truck. Who knows, I may just apply a little dab or two on a panel on my car just for the heck of it. Like I said though, I'm just looking for a one-step product I can apply that will last longer than carnauba and shine well without doing a bunch of prep work like I've done on my car (clay, swirl mark remover etc). I'm just going to dawn wash his truck then apply LG for shine/protection. He's been using Meguiar's for a while now per my suggestion so the LG should look and protect much better, close to Zaino at least.

Thanks Mike, you're a good guy to know.

MY neighbour once told me about Liquid Glass, but he was pretty drunk so I doubt he was being completely honest.

I have been using a product for a year or so now that works pretty good and is half way inexpensive. Eagle one makes is and its called Eagle One Wet. I've been detailing cars at a dealership for a couple of years and its the best stuff I've used yet. I believe its not carnuba based and works good taking out swirl marks. I just got a t/a so I ordered some Zaino yesterday, but the Eagle One is pretty hard to beat for the price and durability.

70ss468,

I'm sure you'll absolutely love the Zaino over Eagle1. The difference in shine and durablilty should really knock you out. Anyhow, let us know how it turns out.

Yeah, it's not so much that Eagle1 is a bad product, I just think there are a few better ones out there for the money. E1 will give a nice shine for a while, but I just don't buy the Teflon additives they use.

Now, I'm rethinking my strategy for my granddad's truck. At first, I thought I might want a long lasting one-step polymer product i.e. LiquidGlass or Klasse. But I got to thinking, if I buy LG or Klasse it will pretty much go to waste and collect dust on the shelf since I can't use it on my car as well after I'm done with his.

So, I've been thinking of trying a high quality carnauba since I could use it both on his truck and my car over Zaino. I know it's technically a NO NO to use a carnauba over Zaino, but I just want to experiment with added depth using a quality carnauba over Zaino. I'm thinking of using One Grand Blitz since it's so highly regarded for adding warmth and depth to your finish. Obviously, I dont need Blitz for durability since Zaino already give me that. That way, I could use the same product on his truck and my car without letting it go to waste. Just an idea I'm tossing around in my head, but it seems more practical to me to buy one product instead of two.

Whatever I decide, I'll let everyone know about the results. There are a few products out there that I'd really like to test this year compared to Zaino and this might be my start. The Zaino + Carnauba combo I've been wanting to try for some time now. Other products I'd like to test include Blackfire polish and protection, maybe Klasse (on another car), and a few odds and ends polishes/waxes.

Here's the latest: I ordered both Liquid Glass and Blitz Wax today (couldn't resist! ) and they should be in by the end of the week or early next. Whoo hoo I'm excited!

If anyone's interested I'll post the results and opinions on each.

I'm excited too, maybe because it's not costing me anything. I'm very interested, as you already know.

Please let us know how they work for you.

Thanks again Mike.
