good idea?

well, i bought meguiars deep crystal step 1 and 2 (cleaning and polishing)
i then bought mothers fx wax to top it off
now i'm doing my rs today, and my z28 in about a week...
i was wondering, should i do the first step on my z28?
i can't see any oxidation or anything but i would think the step 1 would be a good idea anyways
if it won't hurt anything, i'll most likely use it, then do the polish and wax instead of just polish and wax

Re: good idea?

If you are working by hand, it isn't going to hurt to use both products.

Re: good idea?

IMO if this is the first wax in a season, year, or even over 6-8 months, then you should always start out with the cleaner, to get off the oxidation (some of which you can't see), dirt, and old wax residue. You will see much better results when you use steps 1 and 2 b4 topping it off with your carnauba or lsp. Happy waxing.
