getting rid of oxydation and water spots?

well, the guy i bought the car from used didn't take care of the car. i was hoping to just paint the car as soon as i bought it but one thing led to another and between the mods and things that kept breaking i have no cash left to paint it. so i decided to salvage what i could. i went to the local store and bought a bottle of what is supposed to be heavy deoxidizer. it works quite well considering the paint has gone to hell. what is left after 5 hours on just the hood is water spots and a little haze(oxydation i think). the paint is really bad but i want to save it or what i can of it till i get the funds to paint the car. what do you guys use?thanks!
