Flat Black Paint job

I'm thinking of painting my SS Flat Black w/ graphics (Midnight Blue Flames). I got the idea from looking at the flat black custom motorcycles. What do you guys think? I havn't seen any on Camaros but just saw one on a Buick Century on MTV's pimp my ride and it looked amazing! I think the paint job w/crome rims would really set off nice. Does anyone have any pics of other cars with this sort of paint job on it (please, no silly primered car pics ) ?

That would be cool, although I'm not shure how it would hold up. One of my friends with a primer black 68 camaro has had it primered black for about a year and its starting to fade and look like crap. The good part is, is its easy and cheap to repaint with primer. I'm not shure if there is a way to keep up the flat paint. I also dont know what the differnce if any there is between flat black paint and black primer, so what I just said might be completely useless.

Well, I'm not sure if it is the same as black primer, but I've seen some Really expensive bikes with this paint, so there must be a good paint for this that should last, but I'm not sure either.

Dupont hot rod black is what you're after I believe. I'll ask the painter at work tomorrow how it holds up and that kinda stuff. I know when I painetd mine it looked bad *** in dark gray sealer. Almost a shame to paint it really. Hey if you shoot it and don't like it you can just clear over it!

Hey fasteddie, that would be awsome. Let me know what he/she says about it. I'm really thinking about it. Good point on "not liking it" too.

Sorry, all we could come up with was that is the correct paint name and that is it's designed useage. So "in theory" the paint should hold up. I'll see if I can dig something else up for you but we don't have acess to a dupont paint rep at our shop.
