Post First time Zanio user!!!!!

Well I broke down and bought some Zanio (Z1,Z2,Z5,Z6) and went to town today with it. Up until today i would swear by Meguires. Not any more, Z1 was easy to put on and then I put my first coat of Z5 and a hour later I was more than impressed. And the smoothness of the paint also. So with the only coat of Z5 and two more to come and then a double of Z2 and shot of Z6, I can only imagine. All I can say is that Zanio is so easy to apply that I enjoy waxing my baby now. But what sucks is the wait between the coats i put on.

My only question is, since i live in a very dry climate and it is in the upper 80's-low 90's do i still have to wait the 6 hours between coats????

If you're not using ZFX, Zaino recommends that you wait 6 hours (if the temp is over 60 degrees) between coats so the previous coat can properly cure. Applying another coat too early could result in improper bonding over the last coat, so it's best just to wait 6 hours to be safe.

I was a long time Meguiar's user myself, among many other products, and there is simply no comparison in the durability, ease of use, and shine that Zaino gives, so I know exactly what you're seeing with Zaino. Z only gets easier and better after the initial application using Z1, after every coat, and every Z7 wash or Z6. Enjoy your Zaino shine!

I'm on my 8th coat of Zaino and it's not as slick as Turtle Wax Extreme but it shines a little better ... AJ

I asked my girlfriend to buy me Zaino for my birthday in a month. I know I need the basics, but aside from that, should I get the Zaino car wash too, or can I keep using my Meguiar's Crystal wash soap? Also, should I get Zaino's claybar and quick detailing mist, or is Meguair's just as good? Cause I already have wash soap, claybar, and quick detailing mist from Meguiars... didn't really think Zaino's could be that much better. Thoughts?

OK, one thing is for sure: DO NOT USE the Meguiar's clay bar. That thing is junk.

The Zaino Z7 wash is designed to work with the polishes to enhance shine. Z7 contains some of the same Z2 polish polymers which really help bring out the Z shine after each wash. The Z7 is one of my personal favorite products, and it's better than any car shampoo I've ever used. Can you still use Meguiar's wash? Sure, it's not going to harm the Zaino polishes in any way shape or form, but it won't help like Z7 will either. However, it might leave a residue that could interfere with adding more coats of Zaino. So, if you use another brand of wash, BE SURE to use Z6 before you apply polish to completely remove any films left by the other wash.

Also, I completely agree with moparman about Meguiar's clay. It's a complete waste of money as it is notorious for leaving plenty of the clay on the surface to have to clean up afterwards. There are much better clays available, even locally, like Clay Magic or Mother's. Zaino clay is a better product than any of them IMHO. It's very tacky, won't degrade if you completely soak it in water or lube, amd works wonderfully without leaving a trace of residue. If you don't want to order clay, Clay Magic is a very good local alternative. Also, it's best to use clay with Z7 as the lube. If you use the Meguiar's quick detailer, you'll have to do another Z7 or Z6 to clean up teh film before applying the Z polishes.

Do not use the Meguiars detailer with Zaino, you will want to get the Z-6 and the Z-7 for the car you want to Zaino, and save the other brand name stuff for a non Zaino car. The chemicals and oils in the Meguiars do not mix with Zaino.
