Fading on my nose and Bumper??
I've got a Black 94 T/A that's in great condition. The only problem is with the nose and bumper. They seem to be more faded than any other part of the car. Is there any suggestions on the best way to bring back the color. Thanks Ya'll!!!!!!

Generally, fading means that the paint has oxidized partially and the "dead paint" needs to be removed to bring back the gloss. So, I'd do two things right off the bat. First, I'd probably clay both areas to remove contaminants. This will primarily smooth out the surface by removing particulates and may bring up a little gloss in the process. More importantly, you'll need an abrasive paint cleaner or light compound to remove the dead paint surface. I'd recommend starting with either Meguiar's or Mother's stage 1 paint cleaner. These are pretty mild to start with but should bring back some gloss, if not all depending on the actual condition of your surface. If these do not work, you'll definitely need something more abrasive. I'd recomend either 3M Fine Cut Compound or Meguiar's Fine Cut Cleaners. You can find both at NAPA parts stores. After you use the compound follow up with a swirl remover and it should look like new after a little hard work and the right technique.

Because they are not painted with the same paint as the rest of the car, the bumpers are a different color from the factory. Typically the black car bumpers appear somewhat lighter or browner than the rest of the car in direct lighting. Usually more noticeable on metallic cars because of flop variances, you can see the difference on all colors.
This may be what you are seeing and nothing short of a re-paint will fix it.

i have the same problem on a 94Z28, i even took it to the detailers (big mistake, never again) the idiots must have broke through the clear coat or something, cuz it looked fine for a month, now it looks worse!
Bummer! If they went through the clear it will probably appear like a peeling or flaking sunburn.
If it just looks hazy or swirly, they probably buffed it incorrectly and then applied a glaze over it to make it look glossy. It may be repairable with correct buffing and polishing.
I hope that's all it is.
