Faded red pant..NuPolish work?
Faded red pant..NuPolish work?
When I wax my car it looks great but after a couple weeks the wax seems to go away and my car looks faded again. You can see a faded red paint and it dont look too good. Also one of my doors is a tad different tint red which makes it look funny. Does nu polish work to bring back color? what does?
Re: Faded red pant..NuPolish work?
any polish will only last so long. sorry to say. the red is not b/c c/c and it's fading and oxidizing. the only permanent fix is repainting it with b/c c/c. repainted my 94 red z 7 years ago and it's still looking new. hope this helps
Re: Faded red pant..NuPolish work?
As said you want to remove as much "dead" faded oxidzed paint as possible with a paint prep product like 3M Scratch and Swirl or Zaino Z-PC, then apply a synthetic wax product, this will keep you car looking good longer than a carnauba wax product, but it's just a short term fix, repainting will be needed at some point.
Re: Faded red pant..NuPolish work?
Get 3M Perfect-it Cutting Compound. I recently used it on my RS and it worked wonders. Now I'm wishing I had before and after pics. It was as faded as could be and now it looks almost good as new.
Edit- put some wax on afterwards.

Yes, have it buffed with a foam pad. I personally use gojo and toilet paper on mine.
Seriously though, you don't need abrasives to remove oxidized paint. Klasse All In One does a fantastic job at removing oxidation by using chemical cleaners rather than abrasives.
You can get it from www.autogeek.net , www.superiorcarcare.net , www.premiumautocare.com , etc. It's very common and widely used among enthusiast detailers.
Good luck!
