exactly how many components are necessary for Zaino?

Hi guys, I was thinking about buying some Zaino car wax after seeing all these threads about it, but when I went to their website to order some, it has like 20 different things and I don't know which one is the wax, or if anything else needs to be added etc. I thought it was just going to be one thing, the wax and that was it, but whats with the Z2, Z5, ZFX cure, etc. I just want to wax my car. What exactly do I need? Should I just get the Z-2 and ZFX? whtas the ZFX for by the way? Also, whats the clay bar for?

Buy the $85 starter kit....it's well worth it and comes with a ****load of stuff. ZFX is an accelerator so when you apply the polish it won't take hours to dry. 3/4 of an ounce of Z5 mixed with 3 drops of ZFX did my whole car 3 times, pics on my cardomain site in my sig (pages 2 and 3). the clay bar is part of the prepping process, and takes off any surface dirt, contaminents, pollution, etc. and makes the paint as smooth as glass.

Cool thanks. I might buy the $85 kit in a months when I recooperate money since I spent most of it on buying the car, but do you recommend if I just buy the Z-2 bottle? I don't mind if the wax takes a little longer to dry, I can just wax it, leave it for a while and do something in the house while it dries, then buff it off later. Will that be good in the meantime, until I buy the kit in the future?

WOW, I just saw your car and that thing is shinny!!!! Where did you get the LT1 decals? Do they have LS1 decals?

I just ordered my kit, hopefully it will be here by the end of the week. Go back to zainobros.com and read all the info you can on it to get a full understanding. Although you could probably get away with Z2 and ZFX, you will more than likely not achieve the brilliance that you see in all these pics floating around. These guys took time to prep their cars before putting the wax on. This is the key. Hang out here in the show and shine for awhile and you will learn alot. I have been waiting for about 9 months to finally have enough money to get the kit (I have 3 kids who somehow manage to drain any extra money that comes my way). Keep reading before you buy.

the decals were on the car when I bought it back in March, but Brent Franker offered to make me new ones.....I'm sure he can make them exactly like mine.
shoot him an e-mail (he's also the moderator on this board), tell him that you want them to be like mine, feel free to use any pictures off my cardomain page. He can make them in almost any color, and quoted me $10 total (for all 3) in light silver reflective.

I'd definitely wait and save up for the starter kit. I've been using Zaino products for a few years, and it does require a little prep work to get it perfect. Once you do though, it's soooooooo easy to maintain a perfect looking car. It's worth the effort in the long run.

Plus, a) you'll end up using every d*mn piece of that starter kit, and b) it lasts a loooooooong time.

I still have my original bottle of Z2 and Z5 from 3 years ago... Not much left in em, and I use the newer formula stuff now, but I still let my friends use it just because it never goes bad

While the "starter kit" is great because it contains everything you could ever need, you really only need Z-1 & Z-2 to get the great protection that Zaino offers, of course the kit will take you to the next level.

From what Sal told me over the phone:

(slightly reworded because this conversation was a month ago)
What's great about the products is that they all work together. For example, the wash actually contains a small amount of polish, which is why an unpolished car shines brilliantly after simply being washed with Z7. The Z6 spray also contains a small amount of polish, as well as a bonding agent that helps Z2, Z3, and Z5 stick to the paint and bond with previous coats of polish.

Even the claybar is designed to remove the most minimal amount of polish, so it can be used without hurting the mirror-like finish left by the Zaino. Also, all of the polishes and even the Z6 spray can be used to shine glass as well.

(back to my own words)
Yes, I Z2 my windows. It makes a strange but enormous difference. They look like mirrors afterwards. And what Sal says is true. The products all work together to make the "starter kit" a complete system. You do get a lot for your money, and the customer service is second to none. Last time I called Sal, he was at a car show. I offered to call back later, but he just held the conversation there and then. Good guy. I'd like to meet him next time I'm in Jersey.

Cliffnotes: Kit = Worth it.
