Easiest Base Color To Paint Over?

I'm currently looking into getting a 2001 Trans-Am with 67,000 miles for 15,000(I know the guy so i can get it a bit cheaper than he was asking before). The base color is silver, and I wanted to paint the car a metallic yellow color(I've seen pics of T/As that were yellow and they look better than I thought, plus I want something a bit different than you usually see). I've heard that if you wanted to repaint of the factory paint to get a base color of either black or white. There is also a 2000 Trans-Am with 68,000 for 18,900 near me. Should I just wait and try and get a black or white T/A or just go ahead and get the silver one?

The thing about changing the color is the Jams. With a black car you can leave the engine compartment black and it won't be that noticeable. It doesn't really matter the color you start with if yourr going to go ahead and paint all the jams.

As far as I know, the color doesn't really matter unless you aren't going to paint the inside of the engine bay and such. For example , you wouldn't want to paint a red F-bird yellow using the cheap "pimp my ride method." Everytime you open the hood or door people would think you're getting out of the ketchup and mustard mobile.
