Cleaning the interior plastic crap to give it an oily shine

Cleaning the interior plastic crap to give it an oily shine.......
I tried washing the interior plastic dash panels all over with soap and it was SO cool until it dryed up! I tlooked like **** with all this white crap and stuff! I was thinking of just wiping down the whole interior with cooking oil but then my brother said i was an idiot and i agreed! So what should I do! I want a perfect interior plastic panel shine on the whole dash area! Thanks

I'm sure the masses will say Zaino, I think Mothers Back to Black works the best for me. However it is a little oily unless you wipe it back down afterwards once or twice. I like the cooking oil idea though i wouldnt try it.

Back to Black works awesome on a black interior. For the Firebird, we use that. For my truck (tan int.) I use Zaino tire-shine.

Armour all can eat away at plastic and rubber over time. this is what most people will tell you on this board. So will silcone protectants like son of a gun. It seems that most people feel if it aint zaino it wont protect. i think any protection is better than none. I used armour for years, with no problem. If you really want it oily the cooking oil will work too i guess.

I personally only have seen armor all do damage to tires over time. And it takes a long time, and does no more damage than the silicone products dealers use. Its really is only a problem if you shine your tires with it and let it sit on the car with out driving it. Even then, you most likely will need new tires before the armour takes it toll. I maintain that some preotection is better than none.

You got that right, it doesnt come off the window to well at all, I never spray armour all on the peices to be protected themselves, instead on a rag. I dont really like armour all, but you know what i'm driving at.

Used Armor-All for 13 years on a Silverado. It kept that big dark gray dash beautiful.

Meguiars "Vinyl and Rubber protectant" is my weapon of choice. It'll give you a decent wet look on the dark gray interior dash console. Spray it on a clean rag and THEN apply it to the dash.
The only prob with getting the top of the dash highly shiney, like in my TA... it reflects itself into the front window at certain times of the day. A bit of a PIA to look through.
Good luck.

those armour all wipes are garbage. if you dont use them all the time they start to mold and dry up. plus they leave linty stuff everywhere.

If you are near Hayward, drop by Vic Hubbard and get the 303 Aerospace. That thing is the best! It made my interior and leather seats look like new. It also protects and last a long time.
