Cleaning engine bay
Im sure there has been much discussion about this but i want to pressure wash inside here and need to know the safest way to go about this so as not to destroy things. please let me know what i can and can't do. It is much appreciated, thanks. Dan
CD2 makes an engine detailing kit that comes with 2 products....a cleaner and a dressing. Many folks are happy with this kit, especially for the cheap price. http://waxdepot.safeshopper.com/65/315.htm?392
Griot's also makes a pretty good engine cleaner, and dressing, but as usual, it's pricey. http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog....007&L3=L3_1501

You don't necessarily have to pressure was your engine, you can use a garden hose. Spray a good degreaser on a cool engine, be careful not to get in on the paint. Let it soak for a few minutes, start the engine and hose it off. Let it run until it's pretty dry.
I used some half strength Greased Lightning Orange Blast on my engine a week ago. Spray on a cool engine, wait about 5-10 minutes, scrub the problem areas, start car and then hose with low pressure to rinse the stuff off. My engine compartment looks a million times better now. That stuff works great in the door jambs too.
