I washed and clayed my bud's SS today. Problem is the last time it was washed was 2 years ago. It was filthy! Problem is, it took me all day to wash and clay and I've only clayed half the car.

Clay bar technique?

I broke it in four piece and sqwashed it. The bar became extremely dirty quickly, so I kept turning it over but it got filthy quick. I felt bad, but I kept using it.

What do you do when the clay get's dirty quick?

The clay is doing it's job. If it's getting that dirty, it's time for a new bar. That car must have been extremely bad off.

 

not much you can do. eithre get a new bar or rip it and twist it like 6 times before you use it on a new panel.

How many times did you wash the car before trying to clay it? Might want to try it more then once before you clay it. Or maybe take it to a car wash and use the high pressure water hose thing to get most of the stuck on dirt that you can get off.

But the man thing i do when clay get dirty is just fold it over or if there are big particles in it pick em out and then fold it over tell you get a good clean clay surface.

After that if its to dirty i think the only thing you can do is throw it away

 

If a car is that bad, I'd Dawn wash it once or twice, then Z7 wash it at least once before touching it with my claybars.

And yeah, trash the bar, it's dead now.
