Care of Polished Aluminum Wheels?
I have a set of Torq Thrust II's on order, the 17x11's have been back ordered for 2 months
, and all this waiting has me worrying about how I am going to keep them looking bright and shiny.
I had aluminum wheels on my Jeep before and they sucked and never looked nice after a short time but these are "polished" aluminum. What exactly does that mean and what should I do with them.
TIA

Take a look at my ARE 200S's in my signature. They are basically the same as the Torq Thrust's. Same finish. I use a product called Nuvite. Go to: www.perfectpolish.com/Nuvite.htm
The stuff is awesome!! Use the fine grade. You'll like the results.
Good luck,
Fred

I have had many sets of polished billet wheels, what you want to do is ONLY wash them with car wash and water, no matter how tempting it is, DO NOT use those spray on brake dust removers and wheel cleaners, you gotta get down on your hands and knees and clean them right.
Occasionally I use a fine metal polish like Wenol in the blue tube (costs about 7 dollars) Blue Magic (very good, very fine, Wal Mart thas it) or Magic Mix Metal Polish.
In between polising with metal polish I apply Zaino Z-2 and clean the brake dust off after each drive (yes I said each drive) with the Z-6 and an old cloth that I will throw away after each use.
