Angry Buffing single stage paint

How hard is it? I'v painted my fender twice and both times i got a run in it. i can wet sand the run out but i dont know if it would be easier to buff it or try to repaint it again.

Re: Buffing single stage paint

Isn't the benefit of single stage paint that you can sand the hell out of it? Not sure, but since it lacks clear coat, I thought that was the major benefit.

i don't see why you couldn't wet sand and buff. if repainting is an option, you might as well try and and see what happens. worst you'll have to do is re-paint it. if the run is bad you could knock the high stuff down a bit with a razor blade. go over it with 1500 then 2000 grit wet sanding then try to buff it out.

Re: Buffing single stage paint

it's not as easy as some say, but it can and does happen if you aren't careful. get on youtube and search for meguiars buffing tips or something. theres a 5 video series on wet sanding and buffing. just take your time anywhere near an edge. that's where most burn throughs will happen
