Which is better Meguiars Gold Class or NXT?

I've used the Gold Class liquid wax and must say my car looks awesome. Only complaint I have is that its a pain in the butt to get off.

Now I was thinking of trying NXT but want some opinions first. Also, will Meguairs stop making Gold Class and replace it with NXT? And my car is NBM if that will make a difference.

And I don't want to hear it from you Zanio Zealots either I've concluded that it is not $90 better and a whole weekend of waxing better than Meguiars.

I would say Gold Class and NTX provide about the same results. I've done a side by side on my driver's door panel and they came out pretty good. The only difference, I would say, is the ease of application and removal. NTX of course buffs out REALLY easy. Gold Class is definitely just as good result wise, tho.

I'll be trying out NXT this weekend side by side with Zaino actually, so I'll let you know.

BTW: Doesn't take a whole weekend. I can prep and Zaino a car in 4 hours.

If you do a Zaino side-by-side, make sure it's a fair one. Dawn wash the panel so there's no layering of previous coats to make the Zaino one look better. That way when we see the results, we know it's just pure NTX wax vs 1 coat of Zaino wax. :P

well NXT is a lot better than Gold class, theyre both consumer lines but i think the GC is just a wax not a polymer synthetic. i see your car is nbm id do the
wash
clay
swirl mark remover
#7
nxt
24 hrs later another light coat of nxt

and youll be amazed, and dont worry about the cleaning properties in nxt its not enough to remove a glaze like #7 if it had high cleaning agents it would be considered an all in one or a cleaner polish. and its not its a polymer synthetic sealant.. have fun

I think I've got some valuable info on this...

I've been a die hard Gold Class user ever since I bought my TA in '02. The stuff makes her absolutely GORGOUS.

Well, I broke down a couple weeks back and bought the NXT/booster. I didn't get to put the first coat on until a few days ago. All I can say is It was that beautiful. The shine is much sharper, the black is deeper, and like others have said: it's MUCH easy to take off.

I used the booster spray today and put another coat of NXT on right after and she shines more than ever. I definately have to get some pics for you guys, because it's absolutely wonderful. I can't wait to put more coats on. I guess the best thing about it is it only cost $16 Screw $100....

Yeah, if I were rich I would try Zanio. But I can think of so many other ways to spend a $100 than on wax

I agree, NXT gives me exactly what im looking for, and I know other people appreciate it when they stop me and ask what I use. NXT is great stuff, its 15 bucks, comes with an applicator, all ya need is a terry cloth and your ready to go. No need for 10 bottles of crap and 6 hours of work. 1 NXT layer=6 Zaino layers.

Sorry guys I am a Zaino Zeolot...

right now lets try to avoid the whole which shines better and whatever...

I jsut want to throw in... I spent a day detailing my car yes... In the last 2 months, I have washed it once and hosed it off with no drying other then drivng down the street maybe 5-6 times...

and this is how my car looks.

http://images.cardomain.com/member_i...05_46_full.jpg

I will admit my car does not look as good and shiny as when I first detailed it...(I heare if I used Z6 after the wash it would, but I haven't tried it(its jsut a spray solution))

http://images.cardomain.com/member_i...505_7_full.jpg

but the shine holds up really really well, I thought that wow thats insane all the work and effort put into it. But its kind of a one time job and very hands off since then. My car never looked this good with over Zymol, waxing it every other week. And I do so much less work.

and I do get compliments on the smoothness as well. I know the whole shine thing is a big matter of opinion thing but this stuff to me is very hands off and not that hard to do. To me I woudl rather spend one day detailing(its not constant its usually putting a coat on and letting it sit and bond for a bit) then wash and wax my car like every week.

As for my car, In its life, has only recieved
4 coats of Z5 and 3 coats of Z2, mulitple coats of Z6(just a spray gloss enhancer) And I started zaino in December.

Jsut my opinion thrown in you cna take it or leave it. My favorite thing about Zaino is 1st the smoothness, then the long life of it, then the shine.

I have never tried Zaino. If it really costs $90 I never will try it either. Meguiars NXT is THE BEST off the shelf wax you can buy! Hands down. Just go get a bottle and try it. You wont believe how smooth it makes your paint and how easy it applies and removes.

zaino is the same way... actually if you really wanted you coudl just do one layer of zaino, in the time it takes to do a nrmal layer of one car.

but the shine improves through multiple layers, so you choose to add more and more.

btw $85 starter kits gives you

2 applicators
2 claybars
bottle of car wash concetrate
bottle of Z5
Bottle of Z2
Bottle of Z6
Bottle and mixing viles of ZFX

I bet I have enough stuff to last a year or two.

sounds like you need a degree in chemistry to use zaino. I'll stick with Meguirs, my california duster and put the money I save into something useful.

NXT = $15 a bottle

Zaino = $12.95 a bottle

The Zaino spray polish works great, best spray product I have ever used. NXT spray is a little cheaper ($7 vs. $10) has anyone used it yet?
