best temperature for claying
best temperature for claying
I am planning on detailing (starting with clay) my Z top to bottom over the winter while in storage in my garage. I'm wondering if it's ok to clay as long as it's above freezing? My garage is fully insulated (including door) , but not heated.
Re: best temperature for claying
It really just depends. If you are able to clay effectively without leaving clay streaks on the finish, then you should be good to go. Works the same for hot and cold.
Re: best temperature for claying
I all depends on what products you'll be using.
I can only speak for Zaino, as that's all I use. As a general rule, I try to detail (ie.clay/polish) when the temp. is 40 degree's or above. I too have a garage where I do most of the detailing, and I use 4 small ceramic space heaters which help.

I'll be using the Mother's clay - I've had great results with it. I think i will be using a small heater as well to get the temperature up to say 8 degrees celcius. I think this should be enough for detailing.
