Anyone use Protect-All's Quick and Easy Wash?

A few of the guys on a different site rave about the QEW. I was wondering what you guys thought of it. I have 5 layers of Z2 on my paint now, but now that another PA winter has set in, it is too cold to wash with a hose.

I use it with extreme care when there isn't an option for a traditional wash.

Drew,

What I do with my Jeep is if it's around 38*, I'll wash the car myself. If it's colder than that, I'll go to one of those car washes where you can wash it yourself...if its quiet and not busy, I'll "bucket wash" it, but if there are people waiting, I just use the wand to, first rinse the car, second, spray it with soap, and finally, rinse with spot free. It doesn't completely clean the Jeep, but it does help. NEVER use the brush!!!

I've never tried QEW, so I'm assuming its a way to clean the car without water? If thats the case, personally, I'd play it safe and wait until its warm enough to wash with soap and water.

From what I understand you mix the QEW solution in a bucket and add some quick detailer. Then get a microfiber rag and soak it in the bucket, wring out the microfiber over the paint, and then glide the MF over the paint and remove the dirt. Supposedly the solution is ultra-slick and doesn't scratch the paint. All my detailing instincts are going against it though.

It is a bit strange and takes some getting used to, but it's really not too bad to pick up.

Give it a try and decide for yourself...

I've used it and ya, like you I was very wiery of using it. It works very good though and left no scratching. I used a sheep skin mit and a waffle weave microfiber drying towel. Like Zane said, give it a try.

QEW is an excellent product when dilluted and used with muliple sterile wash mitts . Me personally just use a touchless car wash when it to cold to do a tradition wash. Minor swirls are nothin some megs mirror glaze products cant fix when the warm weather arrives

That's what I figured.

P.S. - I was checking out some of your work. What the hell did you use on that black Mach 1? All those cars look great. I usually use Zaino, on a white car it is fine, but if I ever get a darker color or have a customer with a dark car I may want to try something else.

Thanks! The Mach1 got Poorboy's SSR 2.5 via PC with light cut pad, Klasse AIO via PC with polishing pad, Zaino Z2 Pro, and finished off with Zaino Z8.

I've got to check out this SSR I've been hearing so much about. I am torn on whether to buy a PC or a DeWalt rotary like I'm used to.

If you're proficient with the rotary, there's no real reason to step down to a PC. So many people use PCs because of their safety for any skill level.

Poorboy's SSRs are good polishes, but you may also be interested in Zaino Z-PC Fusion, Menzerna IP/FP, Optimum, etc.

Hmmmm, decisions decisions.

Well on a positive note, it's like 55* out today so I'm off to wash my car the old fashioned way
