Anybody here use the Porter-Cable buffer?
I looking to pick up an oribital buffer for my car as it will probably be much more effective as removing swirl marks and give me wrists a break.
Anyway, many of the other message boards have been pointing to me to this product as it is REALLY easy to use and very effective.

Porter Cable velcro buffing pads
This page has the backing plate that you will need if you don't have it, and the matching buffer pads to fit the backing plate that you have. This system is a favorite with me because with the velcro system, it's unlikely you will do a "burn" on the paint. It is easy to use to the point you can actually handle it with one hand depending on the speed setting.
I use one from ATD, it was around $70 bucks. Comes with 2 backing pads, 1 is velcro and it has variable speed from 1000-3000 rpm.
It works great with 3M foam pads and Ardex pads and I haven't had a pad go flying off yet or burned any paint with it.

It's very easy to use..no learning curve really. The 7424 can remove a decent amount of swirls and defects, and you can't really harm the paint.
Check out www.autogeek.net for some nice kits w/the buffer and pads
