Amount of Zaino used
Amount of Zaino used
I just washed my Z28 for the first time since before winter, and got to use ZFX for the first time too.
I mixed equal parts of Z-2 and Z-5 in the supplied bottle, filling it up a bit less than 1/4 way full. Then I added one drop of ZFX and another "mini" drop, shook it, etc.
Anyway, my question is... if I got two full coats out of this mixture (not incl. wheels), and still had a bit left over, am I using "the right amount"?
The car looks amazing. It dried very quickly too. We had a freak high of 69 yesterday, so I'm sure that helped. The first part of the car I did was basically dry when I finished the last part. Not bad.
I also found a good time-saver. Spray Z-6 on the cloth you use to wipe off the Zaino. Works really well!
Any suggestions?

So you used a 3/4 full ZFX bottle of Z2/Z5? If so, you "should" be able to squeeze at least 2-3 full coats out of this amount. I think the average here would be about 3-5 coats per 2 ounces (full ZFX bottle). I can do 4 to 5 with 2 ounces, others can do even more.
Here's a hint.....spray some Z6 on the app before you put polish on it and this will help it spread thinner and more even. Also, Z6 the entire car before polishing for the same effect. If the app dries out while polishing just spritz it again with Z6.
I've just started using microfiber cloths with Zaino and they work really well at taking off the polish. Seem to work better than cotton IMO....
HTH!

No, I used a 1/4 full bottle of ZFX + Z2/Z5 and still got 2 coats out of it. Is that good? Because it seemed to cover the entire car for each coat.
I do spray the applicator with Z-6 before applying Z-2/5 and yes I think it does help with application. I normally do the entire car with Z-6 before polish too. But with ZFX I've found my little shortcut, of taking off the polish with Z-6 on the cloth works really well.
Where do you get your microfiber pads? I might try one and see how it goes.
Thanks for the thoughts!

The (4) mixing bottles that come with the ZFX are 2 ozs, you should mix 1 oz (half the supplies bottle) with polish (Z-2 or Z-5) and 4 drops of ZFX per 1 oz. of polish. You should be able to do your car twice with 1 oz. of ZFX mixed polish.

I think I misunderstood your original post....... Whatever you're doing, keep on doing it!
