Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!
I HATE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
JUST LOOK AT THIS!!!
Its hard to see in the pic (between the blue trash can and truck in the reflection of my car's passenger door) but there is a big mark in my paint from someone's door... its at least 2.5" tall and about 3/4" wide. You can see in the pattern of scratches how the person slammed the door into my car, where it got stuck, and then a different angle of scratches over top the ones already made where they had to yank it out
Whats worse is that I can see this mark from 20 FEET AWAY!!!
I put so much effort into parking as far away as possible, yet I still get this **** even when I only drive the car 2-3 times a week. I have enough adrenaline built up in me right now to take down someone twice my size....
/vent
Is there ANYTHING I can do to fix this besides repainting the entire door!?!? The only way I got the slightest bit lucky is that it didnt make a dent.

Nice shine....
Try working in clearcoat polishing compound....rub it and wipe it a few times. If it didn't scratch to the base coat or the primer, it should get most or all of the scratch out.
PS: Nice cars don't use parking lots......I gave them up years ago, because there is no negotiating with idiot people that have to swing those big *ss doors into your nice car just because it may be nicer than theirs.
Good luck.

I sympathize, its impossible to keep nice things nice these days, nobody has any respect for others property. The rule with scratches is, if you can feel it with your fingernail, it wont polish out. If you can't, then you can likely polish the damage out. I would start with the mildest compound, like 3M's scratch & swirl remover, or Meguiars Scratch X, and apply it by hand. If that doesnt work, then move up to the other 3M compound (I forget the number, I have both...the milder is the red bottle, the harder stuff is the blue bottle), and keep working on it. If those dont work, then you should take the car to a detail shop, and get them to polish the area with a machine. I have had really good success with the 3M and Meguiars products, BTW.
well, I just tried the fingernail thing, and I can feel it... but just barely. Also towards the middle of it, I can see a hint of white in a couple of the scratches, which I know cant be good... but most of the other scratches are a lot lighter. I know it could have been worse, cause I applied 4 coats of zaino just before recieving this 'blessing.'
try Z-5 or Meguiars STEP 1 Paint Cleaner. Otherwise go to AutoZone and pick up some scratch out. Yeah theyre abrasives but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do but it looks like it should come out with any abrasive.
Hate to say it but your better off with a detail shop that does "wet sanding". It will remove all but that major point of contact without paint fade and if they are good enough, they will use a paint marker to touch up then use a clear coat fill over the top. You won't see a mark where it was. Shouldn't cost more than $60 tops.
Yea, actually I was thinking about just sitting on it for now and then just fixing everything when I get a job and some money. My front clip needs a complete respray, but I want to wait till I get the SS hood for obvious reasons. I have a million nicks up there, but still very good shine. After all that, I want to have the rest of the car done at a detail shop like you say. I realized I was flipping out about this mark, when there are actually other much worse flaws in the paint that were on the car when I bought it. As for now, my friend has some meguiars scratchX that im going to try the next time I wash with dawn (right now I have 5 layers of zaino on that im not willing to take off).

Its just my own opinion but it might not be a good idea to use scratch remover until your ready for a shop detail job. If you have stock paint its pretty soft, if you leave it as is they have a better chance of wet sanding all the scratches and swirl marks out because you've left enough thickness of paint to do it.
Save your elbow grease until you get the clip and hood done - just keep shining up the zaino for now....no matter how irritating it is.
Pictures when your done!

It's something that needs to be removed with an abrasive, nothing will hide it. Seek professional assistance, because I'll tell you right now, that's not coming out by hand....it's going to need an experienced detailer with a rotary buffer.
Even parked next to a very 'nice car conscious' friend, but of course, all it takes is one idiot to park on the other side. Never got to see who it was. Oh well, I dont have to worry about parking in that nightmare again
