Adhesive on paint

So I have two things I'm doing right now. First of all the stripes I have are getting ugly blotches on them. They guy I got them from said I need to remove them and send a sample to the manufacturer to get a refund. So I removed them from the rear lid. Only problem is I have adhesive residue left in patches. What is the best way to get this stuff off? I dont want to be abrassive on the paint because the paint is in excellent condition.

Question 2 is similar. I was looking at removing the trim from the sides as has been highly recommended. I started to peel one back and these suckers are on good. How much clean up work is required? It looks like I'm going to be left with the 3M double sided stuck to the car, what's th best way to get that off? I used a hair dryer for the stripes. My driver's side was hit a year ago and the door was replaced. Is it safe to assume when they painted, they painted the door and then put the trim on? Or would they have stuck it on and then painted?

'preciate the help!

3M makes an Adhesive Remover that will work, or claying will work too.
