THE ABSORBER - ANOTHER DUMB ?
Sorry, this is probably one of the most stupid questions you'll ever see on this board but here goes - I bought one of the Absorbers to try out. The only color they had was pink. Last night a guy I know was telling me that I can't use it unless it's yellow like a chamois or it will leave some sort of residue on my car. True or false? I know colored towels can do that but an Absorber? I think he might have been trying to give me a bad time but worth it to ask, I guess.....Thanks again BTW, my car is bright red. 2001 SS Zaino'd to the max!

If it's the real deal... the brand name "Absorber"... then I don't think you have anything to worry about IMO. I have a blue one and one in the original fashionable yellow. Both work great. For kicks, you might want to run it through your washer with hot water (liquid detergent only, of course) before using it. They seem to work better after a spin through the washer, plus any residue that "might" be there will be gone.

I've used a "pink" Absorber for years on my car, absoutely no problems. I have no clue where he got his info, but that is completely 110% false. In fact, many of the actual "yellow" chamois' that I have used in the past, do leave a slight residue because of the oil content used in them to keep them from drying out. The oils also help give the car a shine believe it or not, but I gave up on those things long ago in favor of synthetic....

Hmmm, thanks again, guys. I was pretty sure he was trying to jerk my leash but who knows? So a run through the washer is good for them? I'll try that.
BTW, good to hear from you, Mike. Hope your job is working out great. . .

Good to hear from you as well. Things are going pretty good at the job, and I'm staying very busy, plus a fat paycheck rules!
Anyhow, thanks for the well wishes! I can use as many as I can get...

Good to be "back in the saddle," so to speak, among so many enthusiasts that share the same passion.
