Re: WTB: Stock LT1 Intake Elbow w/functional IAT

I would be interested in selling mine and getting a vortec elbow. I have a 96 Z28, if that helps. Make me an offer and if it is a decent price, I will sell. I also have a throttle body airfoil that goes in the tube, that can't be used in the vortec, so that could be sold as well, but I would need $40 for that, since it is almost brand new. Bought it right before I parked my car for the winter. Elbow is in Perfect shape. Can send pics if needed. Email with response: 93fiveo@micro-link.net I dont get to check the boards much.

I have a stock elbow with a functioning IAT, but mine is missing the silencer tube. 25 shipped if you want it. No tears, good overall condition.

I've never actually held a stock one in my hand. What exactly is the silencer tube? Is it visble on this picture?

If so, what piece is it.

My goal in buying this is to pull a tiny amount of hp out of my car that I can swap back and forth when I pull my restrictor plate. The 1LE elbow that I have gives about 3rwhp.

No that is not it. The tube goes into the hole that is in the bottom of the elbow. I have been told you can use a pert plus shampoo bottle to fill in the hole if you dont have it. let me know.

Yes, I know that this is not the stock elbow, but I don't have access to a picture of a stock one.

Does the silencer/flow affect hp? I know it sounds retarded for a race car, but I am looking to pull a little hp out of the car. I am too close to the hp limit for my race series and I want to increase my safety margin.

Also, does the elbow have the optispark vent tube hole in it? It should be a small hole on the top of the elbow that a small black hose with a blue end plugs into from the opti.

OK. There is a guy here at work with a stock LT1 in the parking lot. Next "smoke break" I'm gonna go out and have a look. I'll get back to both of you guys...

BTW Huntr1117, I assume the IAT works and you have the opti vent hole?

The IAT was working when I took it off the car. Bought a trickflow elbow that had a IAT already in it. It also has the vented opti hole.
