WTB: LS1 Motor

Well I graduated college finally and got myself a good job. So its time to FINALLY finish my LT1-LS1 swap. I have the wiring harness, the mechanic, the transmission, the clutch.... Now I need the motor!!! I had one, but sold it when times got tough in college. Looking for an LS1 motor to drop into my 95 Z28. Or if anybody has a good place to buy one in Texas. THANKS!

hey there I may be able to help! I have my old LS1 out of my 99 still. I Dropped in a 408 iron block when a connecting rod started knocking. But I never let the motor fail. I'm sure it just needs a refreshing with a new connecting rod (or 8) and all new seals and bearings. As it is, I could let it go cheap and if you would want me to rebuild it I can do that for only say 10% over what the rebuild bill is. When I looked into it (for this reason, to sell it) The machine shop with LS1 experience said only around 650-850 for parts depending. It has no heads, or intake etc, its JUST the block and rotating assembly

Im in Kyle tx... Here is the deal Ive got an LS1 being built that I was going to put in my 97...It should be done very shortly but I aborted the project so my my is for sell. Its not stock though. Its LS6 intake, LS6 block, Torquer II Cam, Stage 2 ported heads with Manley double valve springs and Manely valves, ARP rod bolts, ARP Head bolts, LS3 oil pump and LS3 Timing chain. Also will come with computer and harness, HOWEVER its going to cost some coin. Im looking for $4K for it. Block only has 52K on it with minor piston work.

Hit me up if interested. Like I said im located in kyle.

That is tempting... I might be purchasing a Stock LS1, if that falls through however I might hit you up and get some more info about the motor. Thanks for the reply.
