Re: Wtb: Gears!!
In my 6-speed, I was running about 1850rpm at 65mph...no driveability problems at all.
I live very close to the OH/PA border...and work in Akron, OH...it's about an hour drive each way. Didn't drive this car every day, but didn't have any problems or issues when I did.
Gas mileage dropped from about 25-26mpg to 24-24.5 on the highway.
Car felt like a whole new beast, though! Acceleration off the line and out of curves was phenomenal....even just punching it on the highway is a world of differene. This is about a 20% increase in gearing over stock...so it would be like adding about 60 ft/lbs of torque to an LT1...HUGE difference.
One factor to consider is whether you are making so much power already that the new gearing will make it difficult to hook-up. I'd say that if you are making over 400rwhp, you're better off with higher (lower numerically) gearing.
Let me know if you are interested. If you shoot me your email address, I have pics of the gears available for you to check out.

Re: Wtb: Gears!!
...at the crank or rear wheels?
Drivetrain loss for M6's is about 15%...so 400 rwhp is about 470hp at the crank, and 395 at the crank is about 335 at the rear wheels.
Drivetrain loss for automatics is higher.
Other factors, such as wider/stickier tires, suspension mods, etc. will improve traction as well.

Re: Wtb: Gears!!
...then using the 15% drivetrain loss factor, 314rwhp is about 370-ish at the crank.
With your planned mods, it looks like you're expecting up to another 25hp or so...to 395hp.
You shouldn't have a traction problem with the 4.09 gears.
