Trade my 91 Z convt. for 4th gen

Hey, I'm not really going to get into too many details on my car, unless someone replies, but basically what I'm wanting to do is trade my 1991 Z28 convertible for a 4th gen with an LT1. Preferably a Trans AM, but I'll consider anything. Reason is, my first car was a 1994 Trans AM GT and I fell in love with that car and wish I never sold it. The car I have now is awesome, and turns a lot of heads, but it's just not the same...

Anyway, it's yellow w/black interior, and it's a 5 speed 305 TPI. It's a pretty rare car. Pretty much unmolested, and in good condition. I'll throw in a few pics to get people interested.

I've got a black 1994 Trans Am GT, 6spd, t-tops, grey leather. Where do you live? Email me at RideSMP@redcult.com

Thanks for replying. I am located in Mass, and yes the car is a 5 speed. It has 125,000 miles, and I'm preferably looking for a straight trade but it depends on the car.

I'm gonna get this out there right now. I am 19 years old, so if anyone is scared to buy a car from a "kid" then I thought I'd tell you first before we got into any details. However, I do NOT abuse my cars (It's too expensive that way)

The car has NEVER been in an accident, but it does pull a little bit to the right (needs minor allignment)and there are minor scrapes, etc. nothing too bad, they're not really even noticable in the pictures. The tires are good all around. about 75% tread left. Power everything. All electronics work with the exception of the tachometer. I don't know why it doesn't work, it hasn't worked since I bought it. The interior is black and very clean. There are black seats in it from a GTA now, with power lumbar, but the drivers seat is torn pretty badly on the left side, on the part you sit on. They're great seats and could be recovered easily. Because of the rip though, I will throw in the original light grey camaro seats. They are in good condition, and the driver's seat is power. I will also throw in a complete GTA dash and center console if you want it.

Here's the bad part: someone slit the top on my car. It's about a 10" slash right over the drivers seat. For a temp. fix I just covered it with black duct tape. It holds the water out and everything, but it is a minor eyesore. Unless we're talking about a straight trade, I do not plan on replacing the top. A new top costs about $300 on-line. It's not an expensive fix, but I just don't have the cash right now.

that's about it, any more questions feel free to ask. I'm trying to be as honest as I can here.

Oh yeah, 1 more thing. The ONLY mod is a flowmaster American thunder cat back (3") that's it, otherwise it's stock.

lmao
Read the rest of my reply. I said if it was a straight trade, I'd replace the top first.

even with a good top, the value of the car with that many miles is only around 3500. my car right now is worth about 6500. i would do the trade in a heartbeat if you were willing to make up the difference in cash

Maybe your car is worth 6500, but that doesn't mean everyone's is. I never said what condition the other person's car had to be in. I've regularly seen 93,94,95 4th gens go for 4-5,000. I'd be willing to accept some imperfections. Also, I don't know where you pulled that $3500 number from, but I'd like you to find a good condition 3rd gen vert for that much. Hell, even finding one in any condition can be difficult. I'd never let this car go for less than the $5500 I paid for it. It's not that it's a bad car and I want to get rid of it, the car I used to have was just more..."me" If no one's willing to trade, it's no big deal, I'll just keep this car. Besides, the value will only go up in the future.

no offense, but theres no was your going to get 5500 for a 91 vert with 125000 on the clock and a ripped top. a ripped top does not constitute good condition on a car where the top is the main selling point of the car. 3500 is the kelley blue book value, as opposed to my 6500 kbb value. i wasnt saying they all are worth 6500, just mine as i was offering mine as a trade for yours with cash.

sorry for any confusion.

I understand what you guys are saying, but to anyone who truly wants a certain type of car, KBB means nothing. Sure, it's something to go by, but the true value of a car is what someone is willing to pay for it I'll just say this, when I had my previous car (pictures... http://www.angelfire.com/nv/seed/car.html) and was selling to get what I have now, I would of never traded it for the car I have now in the condition I bought it in, never...
However, If the car had been in the condition it is now, I would of definatley done it. So, if I was willing, then there must be someone out there like me, right? It's all about finding the right person. Maybe you don't appreciate my car, that's fine, but there are those that would. Like I said before, I'm not too picky on the condition of the other person's car. I like projects... I mean, if you had a 175,000 mile, stock Trans AM with a good size dent on one of the panels and it needed paint/bodywork, then how would you see it? I never said the other person's car had to be perfect or anywhere's near there, and I also said if it was a straight out trade, I WOULD replace the top beforehand. I'm not stupid enough to think that I'd find a perfect fourth gen from this. I don't know what you guys find so funny, I've seen thirdgen verts in equal condition to mine go for 7,8, etc. grand on used lots... I have never, at least around here, seen on go for less than 5. I know, because if it did, I would of bought it. It's supply vs. demand. KBB means nothing, it's all what people are willing to pay.

P.S. (I am NOT saying mine is worth 7 or 8 grand)
