I was fondling the idea of picking up a used LT1 somewhere/anywhere. I basically would like to be able to tear the engine down, and discover for myself how everything goes together. I don't really think that it would be used for anything else than that purpose. Anything Local (Chicago)

If you just want to tear an engine apart to figure out how it works, go to a junk yard and pick a used/old 350 small block. They are very common and pretty cheap. Lt1's are a lot more expensive, plus you'd have to pay several hundred just for shipping...
