DFI Gen 6
DFI Gen 6
I'm tired of trying to ge my car running on the factory computer. I've already washed out one set of rings and I dont want to repeat that. Since I cant afford a Gen 7 I'm looking for a Gen 6 complete with wiring, software, communication cable, and what ever else is a bonus. Must be for batch fire V8. I dont need sequential or anything fancy. Just a better computer than stock.
Thanks!

Re: DFI Gen 6
It sounds like you might be interested in the Gen 6 I'm about to pull off my car. The harness has been cut and modified to work with the TPIS Miniram, and with it, I've had a summer of trouble-free driving.
Take into account that I've got it on a TPIS Minirammed 385 with AFR195 heads, 10.6:1 compression ratio, Comp cams custom hydraulic roller, 1.6 ratio roller rockers, a 58 mm throttle body, and a T6 transmission and you can see that with my tune in this DFI, you'll be running pretty much right out of the chute with your 383 with a tune that's pretty darned close to what you need.
The engine laid down 396 RWHP at 6250 RPM, and 385 ft.lb at 4200 RPM a few weeks ago on the Livernois dyno at the Woodward Dream cruise.
The harness also has plenty of options such as the dual-stage nitrous harness, electric fan harness, calmap software, etcetera. Just remember that with teh Accel DFI you need a laptop that runs Windows 98 or earlier so that you can run it in DOS. Otherwise the Gen 6 wont communicate properly.
PM me, I'll be selling it for about $600 and pulling it off within the next few weeks. Click on my SIG's links for pictures of the engine and car.
I'm upgrading to FAST XFI so that I can do some electronics development of some accessory modules for them. That's the only reason I'm pulling off the DFI, which has been rock-solid reliable.
