Re: ZR-1 Replica Wheels for Sale (2 sets)

Thanks for the pics and the info. I am definately interested in picking up those wheels from you. Any ideas what shipping to the Detroit area might be? The budget is streched so hopefully shipping won't be a "deal-breaker".
thanks, Rick

Re: ZR-1 Replica Wheels for Sale (2 sets)

Give me a zip code and I will be able to give a decent estimate.

There are two choices for shipping: boxed and packaged in packing material or multiple layers of plastic wrap and duct tape affixed directly to the wheel. I just received 4 wheels wrapped in "saran wrap" and it worked much better than I thought it would. In fact, I would have never suggested this if I hadn't seen it work in-person. This is the less expensive option, as well.

Re: ZR-1 Replica Wheels for Sale (2 sets)

I checked shipping four wheels to Detroit - picked zip code 48201 as a guess. It came back $51.00 using my wife's account (she sells *crap* on the Internet and has an account, which makes shipping costs a little cheaper). Given it is about 300 miles each way between Detroit and Pittsburgh, I don't think you could drive it for $51 in gas in a vehicle that could hold all 4 wheels... Still interested?

Re: ZR-1 Replica Wheels for Sale (2 sets)

I have received no less than 5 requests for shipping costs. THe range of costs per wheel were $10-$27.50 depending on how far away the buy was. In every instance, they went silent - no "no thanks" or anything.

Near-new wheels still available.

I might have something of interest for you... I bought a rolling chassis of an F-Body that was set up for the circuit... it came with 1 piece Speedline Corse magnesium racing rims in 17x9.5 and 17.x11 sizes... 2 of each. My car see's 90% street duty and 10% 1/4 mile. They came with new BFG KD's 275's & 315's. I wanted to get a matching pair for my drag tires and found out these rims cost $900 EACH I also found out they don't even make center caps for them Here's what I am looking for, ZR1 rims make the most sense for me due to the following reason...

I want a 17x9 pair for the front
I want a 17x11 pair for the rear (street tires)
I want a 16x8.5 pair for the rear (MT drag radials)
or I could possibly consider another pair of 17x9 for the rear and use the 275/40/17 MT ET Street or Street drag radial...

Let me know if you are interested... otherwise I will keep all 4 wheels for the street and buy 4 new wheels for the drag strip... SLP is running a promo on wheels $500 for 4 16" ZR1's or $600 for 4 17" ZR1's... it would cost me about $550 plus $100 shipping to get these 4 wheels, but I would rather not have to change 4 wheels when going to the track... all this cause I want matching rims on the front and back!

For what it's worth the Speedline distributor told me my rims are ultra light at about 16lbs each... I can email you photos... Thanks

Are you offering to sell me the Speedlines? If so, I can't use them - I have to run 16x8's and I have already purchased a set. However, my guess is that if you list them at frrax.com, sccaforms.com or nasaforums.com you will be able to sell them.

I see that you are considering 17x9's to run 275/40/17's - I ran the same size tires on these 17x9.5 that I have for sale. Beyond this, I really don't think that I have anything on your "I want" list.

Re: ZR-1 Replica Wheels for Sale (2 sets)

These wheels sure have kept me busy.

I have had them sold a number of times and have allowed myself to be talked down, but still no closers.

Since I have already accepted lower offers I figure I should just post these lower FIRM prices to save myself some time and effort.

For a set of 4 wheels chosen from wheels 1-6, I will let the set go for $450 SHIPPED to your door. For a set of 4 wheels with two wheels from wheels 1-6 and wheels 7 and 8, I will let that set go for $400 SHIPPED to your door.

Serious enquiries only please.
