Solid Roller 383 Lt1
Solid Roller 383 Lt1
OK guys this is my personal motor.First a fast run through on the history.
I built this motor and put it in my car.The car had 3 or 4 trips on it from the house to the shop.I put it on the dyno and leaned out number 8.We took this motor out and replaced number 8 piston and number 6 piston.Even though everything was new we reringed it,put new cam bearings, new rod bearings, new main bearings, and did a new valve job on the heads.Number 8 was resleeved.
So basicaly this already new motor is BRAND NEW again.
The car was a 700 r4 with a 9 inch. The motor is built for nitrous. On motor with a three step colder plug it put out right under 400hp and 400 torque.
On a 200 shot it put down 622hp and 735 foot pounds of torque. We skiped to the 400 shot and the right bank went lean.
The motor was built by Bernard Racing Engines ( A freind of Mine)
So here is a run through on the motor. With a estamite on what the parts were.
Machine shop cost.. around 1300

Lower Half gaskets-75.00
Hardend push rods-150.00
Guide plates-?
This motor is also ole ringed.
The motor is still at the machine shop getting put together.I got the stupid idea of parting this car out and buying a vette. Then I ended up converting it into a LS1 car.I wish I would have stayed with this LT1 set up but I am to commited at this point.
If you want to by a really nice motor with out all the wait of the machine shop and no Core charge this is the one to buy.Im sure I have left some thing out but I tried to cover it for the most part.
I know there is more stuff missing but basically to build this motor with core you are going to have right under 8,000 in it.
Ill take 6,000 for it.Valve covers, Oil pan,and timing chain cover included.
This is a good deal
You can call me at work 1-866-648-7637 or 254-857-4237. Email at info@nitrodaves.com or pm me.
Thanks

Re: Solid Roller 383 Lt1
Well a question for you unrelated to sale, but gets you TTT for free.
How did those SRP pistons hold up to the nitrous? Were they ruined when the car went lean? Any idea of what they are capable of handling with fuel?
Reason I ask is I am running a very similiar setup (4340 crank and H beams with SRP slugs). Looking into buying a direct port, but not really sure of the abuse the SRPs can take. Think the H beams and crank will hold up fine.
