Pacesetter Long Tubes FS
Pacesetter Long Tubes FS
Hey everyone, i have a set of pacesetter long tube 94-95 LT1 uncoated headers. I bought them back in march and installed them. I ran them around for about 100miles, and then took them off for emissions. The car is now for sale, and im selling the headers seperately. im looking for $200. Ill give them to you for $175 if you pick them up if your local.
i will honestly say that the hardest part is removing the old manfiolds. Once that is done, take out your steering kncukel, all your plugs, undo the motor mounts and jack up the motor. Driver side goes in smoothly from the bottom, passenger side was a bit of a pain, i had to put a dimple in one of the tubes but now they slide in smoothly also.
Overall it took me about 15hours working an hour here and an hour there. Its a satruday project. Getting the car up high enough and the old manifolds out is the toughest part.

pacesetters, jet hots, and hookers are all basically the same. With pacestter being the easiest to install and the cheapest. Brent94z even did a side by side comparison on the pacestter vs hookers. The pacesetters have thicker flanges and even look easier to install. Starter removal is usually a must on the jet hots and hookers, and i didnt need to do it. Im estimating i got about 25rwhp outta these headers. The car sounded meaner and pulled way harder.
ok well a few people around here says its way harder to install the pacesetters and that the power increase isnt that great compared to jet hot or pace setter. why would they make this claim? just curious i was goin to get in on the gp they have for the emission legal version
they are jealous? i did a fair amount of searching on what to get before i concluded to buy these headers. If you search for pacesetter you are bound to find the comparison by brent. It has about 25 pictures and what he thinks on them. For twice the money, you can get a header with a thinner flange ( more prone to warping and leaking ) And tubes that are "tuned length" which looks like a pain in the *** to install. Either way, the are so close in design the things i mentioned are about the only differences that i think you would be a fool to buy a set of jet hots or hookers. Plus, you dont have to worry about welding your slip fits on these
I'm about to purchase a set of these, so I'm interested in the race set.
I'm going to get rid of a set of MAC's mid length headers if you want to swap and me give you some cash. There are good for emissions.

I have the pacesetters and I love them. I did NOT have to jack up the motor, slipped drivers in from the top, and on the passenger I only had to take off alternator and dipstick and it slid right in from the bottom. I have the offroad ones though with no emission tubes. They are great for the price and I noticed a big diff. Hope that helps
