I just got my new custom exhaust 3" ypipe with a turn down and I love it. Also i need the money to finish a few goodies.

2 months ago I bought this borla catback from a friend of mine off an ls1 for $450 , and it fitted in great and sounds awsome, and changing the plates was awsome too.


I'm selling the borla for $400 or best offer (try me)plus shipping, no dents or leaks anything, sh*t it's stainless steal hehee . Got all the plates so you can adjuste from fully open to next two sizes to full closed.

Fit's lt1 or ls1 , have all clamps everything ready to put on

This "gentleman", Christian Alsop is a bad trader.

The short version is that I shot him a low bid, which he accepted after a few days of waiting for other buyers' replies.

During this transaction, he repeatedly assured me that the system was complete and ready to use -but low and behold the first 2 feet or so of the pipe starting at the cat connection had been cut. Christian (or Chris as he prefers), has refused to pay to have this pipe fixed, or allow me to send the system back to him.

No worries, I will take this up with Paypal, and then my Credit Card company of need be, but anything less the a complete refund with added return shipping costs is not acceptable.
(I was originally going to allow him to pay to fix this item, but since he is uncooperative I won't be allowing that any longer.)

I'm not posting for sympathy -but just to let people know if this person shows his face around the forum or if you know him from real life -perhaps from the Air Force or Surfside Miama Beach, you may want to push him to do the right thing -since his conscience obviously isn't going to.

I'd love to be able to report his disrespectful actions to his commanding officer(s) and/or the local police, so if anyone might know whom that may be in Miama Beach, that would be great as I'll be sure to ruffle a few feathers there.

Well his listing is wrong.. first of all it CAN'T fit both LT1 and LS1.. LS1 Borla's are shorter [minus the 'S' bend..]
I was going to post correctign this when I saw the post, but didn't get to it.. wish I had now...

I do think that there is an 'S' pipe availablefrom Thunder etc, if that helps any..

 

Thanks. The issue isn't so much what it may have fit when it was whole -it is that it has been cut and is therefore missing a large part of it. I'm not worried about *whether* I'll get my money back -because I know I will, I'm just pissed about having to go through the hassle to get it back.

First- Christian is a 2nd lt. USAF, and is currently in pilot training at tyndal airforce base. He was selling parts for his car cause he sold his car to go to pilot training.

Second. Mr. Lower Im a 31 year old lawyer. Dont do civil but criminal.

What i've seen from his exhaust it fitted perfectly with the stock exhaust all just you need is an extra 2 ft of a pipe from the stock y-pipe to where the cat has been cut . So sorry gentlemen yes you can fit with no problem a ls1 borla cat back on any lt1. ( I own a 99 ls1)

Now regarding your issue , he sent you a cat back saying that it fits right in all you need to do is ad a pipe. If you dont like what you got suffer, the whole cat back is there so stop making these statements about my brother.
You take risks online by buying things Mr. he sent you what you ask for , now that if you have to alter it a bit so be it. For the price he sold it to you , you shouldnt be crying about it be a man and deal with it. Or your little wife wont permit you ? hmmm

I spoke personally to paypal , sorry Mr. there isn't anything that can be done , there is no refunds on "not described goods" . You get a refund "only" if he didnt ship you the product which he did fully. I have his receipts and pictures of the package being shipped.

You want to deal with him , go to Tyndall Air Force base Panama City , FL. Go ask for Lt. Alsop, i'm sure he'll be happy to see you.

You obviously don't have all the details there junior. You better ask your thieving brother to clue you in on what REALLY was said.

Now. I have a cat. So wouldn't that quote say it should bolt right up? ALL Borla systems are bolt on. Why was it NEVER mentioned that this item had been CUT? The system can NO LONGER be bolted on, and is missing the cat attachment flange and the next 2 foot of "S" pipe. Why was this never mentioned?

And he sent me a picture of it. (Only to admit later this wasn't the exact item but just some picture he found on eBay. He assured me at that time that the exhaust look exactly like this picture though. Why isn't it, smart guy?

I have taken the liberty of circling the cut off pipe. Just for prosperities sake. And for the record, I've checked 6 local shops, none of them can randomly weld on a pipe -they need to know how long the pipe should be. How would they know that? By having the entire system up and installed. THEN they could know what would be need to mount the missing piece in. The cost to do this is MINIMUM (at the lowest estimate) $150. I asked Chris to pay half, since they estimate 50% of the cost to go to weld the rest of the catback on, and 50% would go into time, labor and parts fabricating the missing piece back in.

Of course doing this would render my car a PERMANENT Borla exhaust system, but it was an option. It no longer is though. I will settle for nothing less than a complete refund and Chris to pay the return shipping. He's been decietful, and unfair since finding out he sold a poor system. I will not accept this.

You seem to talk big and have less of a clue than your scamming brother. He's admitted several times he's flat broke and DESPERATE for money. I propose he KNEW this item had issues but was looking for someone to pray upon.

Christian IS a scammer. Throw up your email addy and I can forward all perinent emails, and you can see for yourself. Also; the rules of a deal gone sour here dictate that a bad seller (or buyer) SHOULD be announced to all, so they can be avoided by others. You and Christian may not appreciate it, but anyone considering a future deal with your brother certainly will.

Anyone with INTEGRITY, would stand behind what they sold, own up to their mistake (and he HAS ADMITTED he sold an item that was NOT as described), and do the right thing. They wouldn't hide behind their "brother", or anyone else for that matter. They would stand up, and say "this is what happened".

Christian has opted to disrespect me by continuing to play games like this. He's an ill-spoken low budget scammer -that was dying to take someones money. Too bad for him he took mine, because I WILL get it back.

Curiously enough, I just called Tyndall Air Force base in Panama City , FL. Their directory assistance (850)283-1113) has NO ONE listed there under Alsop.

Lower I am a new guy so take this for whatever its worth but you can have that 2 foot piece of pipe made at Midas for about 15 bucks. Although I think Chris should have just sent you the 15 bucks to make you happy. I hope you guys can resolve this I was very pleased when I joined this bored that I didnt see alot of this type of bashing going on. Chris if you can read this try and work it out with Lower I am sure what you thought your description was with no cats and what Lower was looking for where 2 different ideas. Maybe it was an honest mistake I dont know but it wouldnt take much to make it right. I say the price is about 15 bucks because the Midas around here gets 3 bucks per foot 3 bucks per bend and 3 bucks per swell or adjustment. So if you need 2 foot with a flange and a swell on the end it shouldnt be much.

Again: How would I tell them how long of a piece to weld on? There is no way to tell without the rest of the exhaust hanging.

I'd also guess it is all having to do with price setting: Maybe somewhere where everyone does this cheap it's cheap, but here it is not.

I will NOT be taking anything shy of a complete refund at this point. I gave options to Chris on Friday, and he chose not to even respond with how he would handle it. So I'm done. I want a coomplete refund and Chris to pay return shipping.

 

Wow I am sorry to hear that for 300 I think you can get a entire new exhaust. I wish you were closer I would help you out. Bolt up the exhaust measure the inlet to the pipe (You want the piece to go inside the cat back system) take a coat hangar if the piece is not a straight one and make the bends with a coat hangar so they know how to bend it. measure the flange on your cat (although they should know what a stock cat flange looks like for a Z) or take a piece of you stock cat back in so they can make you one like it. 300 dollars is more of a rip off than you have already been. Try a Mieneke or some place that makes custom dual exhausts. I was a mechanic for 9 years its not 300 dollars worth of work to make that fit. I know it doesnt make you feel any better and it doesnt take into account that you already paid for the exhaust to someone. I have tried that Paypal crap and I didnt get my money back from them either. The guy never even sent me what he sold me. They said yep he didnt send it and there is not much we can do. I asked about all this buyer protection crap and they told me sorry to bad. Even they had nothing but excuses.
