you're joking right? of course you can compress them by hand, how else would you get them on the car? They would be damaged if you couldn't move them by hand. They don't support the weight, they dampen the reaction of the springs, witch support the weight. By your logic my brand new qa1 shocks are garbage and blown too. Have you ever driven a car without shocks? try it and then put those on and tell me they are garbage. take your rear shocks off the car and drive it around the block with just the springs, then put them on and tell me they don't work.

I am taking my car to a gm dealership today to get my car scanned I shall have them asses the shocks then. If you need that much proof I can get a tech to write up what is wrong with them.
